Due to larger packages and perks existing outside the country, the talented lot moves to foreign countries after getting a relatively cheaper education in our institutions. This mobility creates imbalances and the field remains barren in India. To curb this brain drain it is necessary to engage the workforce by providing them workable opportunities and facilities. The government should intervene to regulate the demands. A recent strike of nurse staff at AIIMS for better facilities left the hospital crippled for days. Even emergency ward has to be closed to increase the woes of the already suffering patients.
An entailing source of influence is the economy of a metropolis. There is evidence of a significant positive correlation between the level of economic development and the human resources in the healthcare sector. As we discussed before, medical institutions in Delhi NCR create better opportunities than tier two and three cities but it is still far below the demand of this burgeoning metropolis. With the cosmopolitan lifestyle, nobody has enough time to take care of old age or injured people. Yet, people don’t want to pay much to health care professionals as the profession of being a nurse is considered psychologically demeaning. Everyone wants a nurse but not from their own home. The field is also gender biased as nursing in India is considered a feminine field.
 Socio-demographic elements such as age distribution of the population also affect the paramedical services. According to the census 2011, almost 2 lakh people of different age groups settle in Delhi NCR every year. The demand is shooting up for health care and we need more medical and paramedical colleges in Delhi NCR to meet it.
Geographical factors such as climate or topography influence the ability to deliver health services; the cultural and political values of a particular nation can also affect the demand and supply of human resources for health care sector. As mentioned above, we have an increasing deficiency of paramedical professional due to migration, psychological lower status, poor salary packages and inefficient job opportunities. But recently the scenario is changing due to upcoming paramedicalcolleges in Delhi which are providing quality skilled education in the filed in association with PM Modi’s Skill India program. They are also aligning with industries to cater better job offers and opportunities to the upcoming workforce.
